Coca-Cola Enterprises has commissioned Digital Logistics company eleventeenth to help them manage shift staffing on the production lines at the UK's biggest bottling plant.
Keeping the production lines rolling at Coca Cola's bottling plant in Wakefield is a complex task, but it had traditionally been managed via a combination of paper based solutions and basic spreadsheets. As time progressed, this solution became less manageable. Learning and Development Manager Steve Platt was confident that matters could be better managed by a dedicated software solution that incorporated business logic specific to the business process. After a reference from a colleague, Steve approached eleventeenth with his vision for a Resource Management solution that would increase visibility and flexibility within the operational workforce and shift management process at Coca-Cola. eleventeenth suggested that their recruitment and HR solution, Resource DLM, could be used as the foundation for the ideal solution.
eleventeenth worked with Steve and his team to produce a system that enabled them that: drives flexibility in the current workforce and provides greater visibility of the current skill sets and levels of staff availability. The aim of the solution is to reduce administration tasks in workforce management and to enhance communication between key stakeholders and staff within Coca-Cola.
eleventeenth was commissioned to build the Shift Planning Application for CCE (SPA-CCE). The application, which will be deployed in December 2008 is expected to lead to increased performance and improved productivity within Coca-Cola Enterprises.
